The bicycle in Spain will cost €90,000 (US$112,000) to buy and repair, while the equivalent bike in the US will cost between $160,000 and $210,000, according to a report by the Associated Press.
The bikes will be sold online through the Bicycle Exchange and can be purchased at the bike store chain Cycle & Travel in Spain, located in La Serena.
Bike in Spain’s bike shops will also offer a range of products including accessories such as lights and pedals.
Cycle &: Travel also sells a bike range of about 120 bicycles.
According to Reuters, the bikes will not be able to travel in the same way as those sold in the United States, as there is a limit of two per household.
As well as the price, the bicycles will be offered in four different colours, including black, white, green and red.
“In Spain, we are seeing a trend towards making bike transport more affordable,” said José María de Castro, president of the Spanish Bicycle Exchange.
While cycling is a popular activity, it is still expensive, with a typical bike costing around €80,000.
More than half of Spain’s population of 1.3 billion live in urban areas.
