The question of what car to buy has become a heated debate.
A survey conducted by automotive analyst firm Kelley Blue Book found that more than a third of Australians had not bought a new car since 2013.
But there are also signs that interest in owning a bike has picked up in recent months.
The RideSafe advocacy group, which campaigns to stop people from riding on public roads, is urging people to consider buying a bike.
“Bike ownership has become more common among younger people in Australia,” said RideSafe Australia director, Mark Williams.
“[But] the bikes are becoming more popular for younger people.”
It is believed the number of people buying a new bike has been on the rise in recent years.
In 2016, just under 30 per cent of Australians said they would buy a new bicycle.
There has been a huge rise in the number and number of bikes being purchased across the country, with about 5 per cent more than the previous year.
Bikes that are purchased by parents and siblings, such as a Schwinn or a Kawasaki, are also on the increase.
Kelley Blue Book said it was important for Australians to understand the bikes that are being purchased, as well as their price and condition.
It advised that consumers should be aware of their bike’s age, the condition and the size of the frame, to be aware whether the bike was manufactured in a high-end manufacturing facility, or is built on a frame that is not as durable as the manufacturer’s specifications.
As the popularity of bikes continues to rise, they are being considered by some as a form of transport.
One of the most popular bike brands, Trek, said it wanted to promote cycling and the value of owning a cycle.
Trek also suggested it would encourage consumers to consider the value and value of their new bicycle if it was a bargain.
Other companies that have started to take notice of the popularity include Trek, Mountain Equipment, Sporty Bike and Trek Adventures.
Mountain Equipment says that the popularity and quality of the new bikes is the result of a “trend in bike buying and sales”.
“We’ve seen the popularity increase significantly in the last year,” a spokesperson said.
This year, there are currently more than 200 new bike brands on the market in Australia.
More than 70 per cent are built on lightweight materials, and are often used by young and novice riders, with Trek, Trek Adventures, Mountain Gear, and Trek Australia also offering their own products.
