A Spanish police sergeant who was charged with assaulting a cyclist has been released on bail.
The incident took place in the town of Girona in the Spanish part of Catalonia, on January 30.
It was one of three similar attacks by motorcyclists on cyclists in the same area over the past two years, police said.
It is not clear if the cyclist who was attacked was injured in the incident.
A statement from the prosecutor’s office said the sergeant has been charged with attempted assault, assault on a motorcyclist and criminal damage to a vehicle.
The case has been adjourned for the next hearing on December 17.
