Terry bikes are coming to Toronto!
The new rideable bicycle brand is planning to open up shop in the city by the end of the year.
We recently had a chance to meet up with Terry Bikes founder and co-founder, Terry Armstrong, at the company’s headquarters in the suburbs of Toronto.
The Terry bike brand has already launched in the U.K., but it is currently only available in the States.
When it comes to bikes, Armstrong is very interested in sustainability.
“The world needs to be moving towards a clean environment,” Armstrong said.
He believes that it is important to support bicycle transportation and not just a personal indulgence.
Armstrong’s first foray into the bicycle market was in 2009 when he launched his own bicycle company, TerraCycle, with the goal of providing people with a safe, sustainable and affordable alternative to cars.
In his first year as a full-time employee, he built TerraCycles into one of the largest bicycle brands in the world.
Today, TerreCycle employs more than 20,000 people in the United States, Canada, and Europe, and has been selling its bikes to retail stores and restaurants.
But Armstrong is looking to expand the company.
For TerreBikes, Armstrong wants to make bike transportation more accessible for people who can’t ride a bike in their homes.
There is a lot of work that needs to go into making bikes accessible, including the ability to share bikes with family members, but Armstrong hopes to eventually make it easier for people to ride their bikes from home.
According to Armstrong, TerriBikes’ launch in Toronto is a “huge step” in making bike transportation accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
As of the beginning of 2019, TerrCycle has already sold over 1.8 million Terry bicycles and Armstrong estimates that the company will sell another 1.2 million bikes by the time the end the year comes around.
Although TerreBs bike stores are relatively new to Toronto, Terrain’s first store opened in 2015 in the heart of the city’s downtown core.
Terrain is currently hiring for its first full-fledged Toronto store, with a target opening by the fall.
Toronto is the only major U.S. city that doesn’t have a bike-share program, but there are currently approximately 500,000 Terry and TerraBikes bicycles in circulation.
And Terry is hoping to soon expand its network to include other U.A.E. cities.
With its Toronto store currently in the planning stages, TerrianBikes hopes to launch in more U.
As. cities in 2019.
