With the Champions League quarterfinals in their sights, Brescians Bicycles team is looking to go into the tournament with renewed confidence.
With a number of players still sidelined with injury, the Bresiase squad are set to play at least four games in the Champions league as they attempt to qualify for the last 16.
The Bresicos top-flight team finished third in the last season’s group stage and secured a spot in the group stage for the first time since 2003, thanks to an away win over Olympiakos in Istanbul.
However, the side’s campaign was cut short with a 2-1 loss at home to Olympiakoss.
Coach Paolo Di Francesco is hoping to bring the Breda side back into the Champions Leagues for the third time in their history, following a 3-0 aggregate defeat to Olympiacos in the Europa League.
The Italian team were also knocked out of the Champions Europa League in 2011.
The club have yet to play in the UEFA Europa League since, having reached the round of 16 of the competition in 2010.
The team have yet a chance to prove their fitness in the competition, with the group stages just a few days away.
They will hope to get a good result on Wednesday as they visit the Bologna Arena to take on Bresca’s Bredo Brescelli.
